Classes

AUCP offers a variety of classes for different age groups and on different days of the week to meet the needs of our families. All classes meet from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, unless otherwise noted.

Panda Class
(1 year old by September 30)

Panda classes are offered five mornings a week and give toddlers an opportunity to play, learn, and socialize in a safe, nurturing environment. Families may enroll their child one day a week, or more if space permits.  Pandas are supervised by a teacher, an aide, and a co-oping parent. Families enrolling an older sibling at AUCP may enroll children under one year old in the Panda class.

Kangaroo and Koala Classes
(2 years old by September 30)

These classes consist of 9 children each. The Kangaroo class meets on Monday and Thursday mornings; the Koala class meets on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Children need not be toilet-trained.

Penguin and Puffin Classes
(3 years old by September 30)

These classes consist of 12 children each and meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Children need not be toilet-trained.

Dolphin and Eagle Classes
(4 years old by September 30)

These classes consist of 14-15 children each and meet on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.

Cheetah Class
(Science & Nature Focus)

An optional class with a Science & Nature theme is offered on Monday and Thursday mornings. The Cheetah class will stress the process of discovery. Children must be enrolled in the Penguin or Puffin class to be eligible for this class.

Owl Class
(Pre-Kindergarten Focus)

An optional Pre-kindergarten class will be offered on Monday and Wednesday mornings. The Owl class will provide opportunities for field trips, language activities, and cooperative learning experiences consistent with the children’s’ interests and needs. Children must be enrolled in the Dolphin or Eagle class to be eligible for this class.

Stay & Play
(Afternoon Extended Days)

Stay & Play meets once a week from 12:30-3pm, providing children an opportunity to acclimate to a full day at school in an environment that is both fun and comfortable for them. The group activities are centered in art, science exploration, and play-based activities, all with a theme of the day. Children must be enrolled in the Penguin, Puffin, Dolphin, or Eagle classes in order to be eligible for this class. There is no co-oping requirement for Stay & Play.

I feel like the teachers and staff really care for my child and have her best interest at heart. I am thrilled to be a part of the school.
