Current Openings
We have openings in select classes. Email membership.aucpva@gmail.com for more information. Applications received will be added to the waitlist in the order they are received.
Admissions Policies
AUCP accepts children ages one to five years old of any race, color, religion, nationality, or ethnic origin. AUCP conducts a lottery each year to fill any openings and does not carry a waitlist over from year to year. Priority is given to the children of AUCP staff, current students and their siblings, former students and their siblings, Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington pledging members and friends, and applicants from the previous year’s waitlist. Students from the prior year’s waitlist must submit a new application and fee after September 30, 2022.
A $50 non-refundable application fee per student is required for families new to AUCP. An application will not be considered until both the application form and the fee are received.
After the application deadline, applicants will receive notification of their admissions status by late February. After the application deadline, new applications will be considered in the order in which they are received, except those of siblings of enrolled students, which will continue to receive priority.
Family Registration Fee and Tuition Deposit (Due Upon Acceptance):
Each family pays a one-time $120 non-refundable registration fee (per family, not per child). This administrative fee includes the Central Registry and criminal background checks for each co-oping parent.
A deposit of one month’s tuition (credited to May of the following school year) is required to reserve your spot. This tuition deposit is non-refundable if you decide to withdraw after April 30.
The family registration fee and tuition deposit are due within 7 days of receipt of your acceptance letter. The registration fee and the tuition deposit are non-refundable unless otherwise indicated in your official acceptance letter. The central registry and criminal history searches are required by law for all volunteers working with children in the classroom.
For current families, there are no application or registration fees. However, the tuition deposit must by paid by February 1, 2023 and includes a non-refundable $50 tuition deposit. Current families will be notified in March about class placement for next year. The balance of the May tuition is non-refundable after April 30.
